Trees Grow Here
My my my it's been a busy couple of weeks. I have:
1. Moved my stuff out of my apartment in DC, leaving my odd roommate and her odd boyfriend free reign (and full responsibility for the rent, thankfully).
2. Moved my stuff into my parents' garage. Or rather, the movers did. Or rather, one moving guy did, as apparently the other moving guy was too hung over to show up for work that day.
3. Moved myself and a very limited amount of stuff into Susanna's on a temporary basis.
4. Started my new job. Learned where the bathroom is, but still cannot use the postage machine. Was gently chastised by my peers for missing the Thirsty Thursday happy hour that I found out about too late to be able to attend. Have discovered that working in a historic office building with window air conditioners is NOT fun during a heat wave.
5. Survived the heat wave, despite a heat index of 120 in Manhattan on Wednesday.
6. Signed the lease on an apartment in Brooklyn Heights, although I can't move in until September. It is small, but beautiful, cheap AND well-located. Who says it can't be done? Going over there tomorow to take measurements. Very excited to no longer have a roommate.
7. Am leaving Monday morning for Toronto for The Conference, which has been planned for sometime. Practically salivating over the prospect of the Westin's Heavenly beds, after only a week of homelessness. Have not practiced my presentation at all, which is Tuesday afternoon, but figure that's what Monday afternoon is for.
